Did anybody notice the yin/yang thing going on in End of Evangelion? How Air/Love is Destructive is basically an action movie that mainly takes place in the light (during the day, on Earth, etc.) and has a fuckton of phallic imagery (guns, lances, spikes, etc.), and Sincerely Yours/My Purest Heart for You is psychological and takes place in the dark and has a fuckton of yonic imagery (self-explanatory)?

Is that just me? Am I imagining that? Do I need to stop doing drugs and drinking absinthe while watching EoE?

I usually don’t give too much analysis type stuff on my rp blogs, but this is pretty interesting. Mostly because I feel like Asuka and Noriko are talking about almost opposite things here. One Noriko is 16 here and Asuka is 6, so when Noriko is talking about maturing and not needing Smith to back here up she can back up what she’s talking about, she’s already proven herself to be a girl who can push herself into getting what she wants and she does it healthily without hurting herself, because ‘hard work and guts’ means working smart. She is matured and capable already she had just to prove it to herself. Asuka here is a small child who has just decided that she is going to using her force of will basically become an adult at 6. Sure Asuka is a genius and she’s super tough but she got that way in a very unhealthy manner. Asuka is permanently  wound way too tight from her own exceptions of being the best and being an adult. She is the poster child of the dark sides of child prodigies because she pushed herself way too hard too fast. She was not ready here to take Noriko’s stance and because of that she wasn’t ready for the entirety of the NGE.
